Thistledew Lavender Farm is the definition of a family affair. The company was created in 2005, after Danny Davis, the owner of Thistledew, retired as a firefighter in Lubbock County. While visiting their son in Washington State, his wife Laurie purchased a lavender tea bag that would change their life. The Davis’ came back to Dickens, Texas, and started researching varieties of lavender, and soon planted a field of their own. The family first realized their success after selling out of products at their first farmers market. From that moment, the Davis’ knew they had a valuable product that customers were demanding. Today, the Davis’ have a production crop of more than 2,500 plants.
